You didn’t collect it. You just inherited it.
A cabinet of bottles you can’t pronounce, a hunch that some of it might be valuable, and a quiet fear that whoever you call will see you coming. This page is for exactly that moment. Most of our sellers started right where you are.
Not knowing what you have is normal.
You don’t need to research anything, learn bourbon, or figure out which bottle is “the good one.” Identifying and valuing bottles is literally our job: photograph the cabinet, send the list, and we’ll tell you what’s valuable, what’s drinkable, and what it’s honestly worth.
The bottles people almost throw away are often the ones we get most excited about. Old Old Fitzgerald decanters, dusty Weller from decades back, an Elmer T. Lee bought as an everyday pour and forgotten. Inherited cabinets are where these surface.
And if it turns out to be worth little? We’ll tell you that too, plainly. You’ll have lost nothing but the time it took to take photos.
Four don’ts.
Don't clean the bottles
Dust is fine; scrubbing can damage labels that matter to the value.
Don't peel or 'fix' anything
Old tax strips and torn labels are evidence of age. Leave them exactly as found.
Don't open anything to check
A broken seal can take a bottle from valuable to a pour for the toast.
Don't toss boxes, tubes, or bags
Original packaging travels with the bottle and can add to the quote.
How to make sure nobody takes advantage of you.
You’re right to be cautious: people who know exactly what a bottle is worth regularly buy from people who don’t. Here’s the checklist we’d give our own family, and we’re happy to be held to every line of it.
Get the offer in writing, itemized
A serious buyer names a number per bottle, on paper, before you commit to anything. Our quotes are itemized and free, and you're welcome to shop them around. If we're not the best offer, don't take it.
Never sell to someone you can't look up
A licensed buyer has a license, a regulator, and a paper trail. We're ABC-licensed, with a named team and a public Trustpilot record. Call the number, ask for our license details, verify us before you send anything.
Don't let anyone rush you
"This offer expires tonight" is a pressure tactic, not a market condition. Bottles that sat in a cabinet for thirty years can sit another month. Our offers are no-obligation and we'll never chase you.
You keep control until you're paid
Nothing ships until you accept a number. Shipping is insured door to door at our cost, and if a deal ever falls through after inspection, your bottles come back to you, insured, also at our cost.
A named team, not a form inbox.
Your list is read by Brennan, our founder, or Steven or Rob, the whole team, all three of whom you can meet on the About page. The person who quotes your cabinet is the person who unpacks the box and the person who sends your payment.
No rush, and no judgment if selling a parent’s collection takes a few conversations. It usually does. Take the quote, sit with it, call back with questions.
Those reviews come from first-time sellers and lifelong collectors alike, and first-time sellers, mostly inheritors, are the majority of the people we buy from. See what they say on our reviews page, then check the purchase record. Every lot on it was once somebody’s cabinet.
Send the cabinet. We’ll sort it out.
Photos of the shelves and whatever names you can read: that's genuinely enough. A real person will tell you what you have within 24 hours.
