Inherited something like this? Send us the list, even the dusty ones. Especially the dusty ones.

Selling shouldn’t feel like a gamble.

There are four ways to sell a rare bottle. Only one of them is a licensed buyer making you a direct cash offer. Here’s the honest side-by-side.

That’s us

We Buy Bottles

One quote, one shipment, one payout.

  • Cash offer in under 24 hours
  • No seller fees or commissions
  • Insured shipping both ways, kit included
  • A real person answers: (202) 902-9935
Start Your Quote

Auction house

Big hammer, long wait.

  • Weeks to months until the hammer falls
  • 15–25% seller fees are standard
  • No guaranteed sale
  • Shipping and insurance are your problem

Consignment broker

Your bottles, their timeline.

  • Paid only after they find a buyer
  • Payout timing is out of your hands
  • Coverage varies while they hold your bottles
  • A listing, not an offer

Marketplace listing

You do all the work.

  • You photograph, list, haggle, and ship
  • No authentication or insurance
  • Scam and damage risk sits with you
  • Strangers, not a licensed buyer

We only make money when you do.

We never take fees out of your payout. Our fee comes from the buyer’s side only, so the number you see is the number you get. No hidden costs, no deductions, no surprises.

Don’t take our word for it.

They gave me a fantastic price for my Rip Van Winkle 10 year. The process was seamless. They sent the packaging with return UPS label. I sent it to them. Quick turn around. Paid immediately.

From beginning to end, We Buy Bottles made my whole experience so simple and easy! Rob was amazing to work with. He kept me informed every step of the way!
Sallie · Trustpilot review, July 2026
I sold a single bottle of bourbon. They offered the best price, by a small margin. Excellent communication. Process was efficient and exactly as described. ACH payment was in my account less than 24 hours after UPS delivered the bottle.

We’re more than bourbon.

Rare bourbon is the specialty, but it’s not the whole cabinet. Whatever you’re uncorking, unboxing, or uncovering, chances are we’ll buy it.

Scotch & world whisky

From Highlands to Heartland.

Macallan, Springbank, Yamazaki. Single malts and world whiskies with real resale value.

Champagne & fine wine

Vintage Bubbles & Cult Classics.

Dom Pérignon, Krug, Burgundy. Cellared, sealed, and well-kept.

Tequila & mezcal

Rare Agave, Real Offers.

Clase Azul, Fortaleza, allocated añejos. And yes, the occasional lightning bolt.

Tesla Tequila añejo lightning-bolt decanter on its stand, purchased by We Buy Bottles

Tesla Tequila añejo · Lot 0031

Not bourbon. Bought it anyway.

What we don’t buy.

To keep our process simple and fair, there are a few items we don’t accept.

Homemade Spirits

No home distillations or custom infusions.

Miniature Samples

Only full-size bottles accepted.

Open/Broken Bottles

Labels and seals must be intact.

Vodka

We love a martini, but vodka just doesn't make the cut.

Ask us anything.

Selling rare spirits can raise questions. We’ve answered the most common ones below, and if you don’t see yours, just reach out.

Do you buy single bottles, or only full collections?

Both. A single bottle is fine, and so is a cabinet you inherited and have not counted yet. Send whatever you have and we will price it.

How do I get an offer?

Send us your bottle list and a few phone photos through the form. No account needed. A person reads it, checks it against what we are actively buying, and sends you a cash offer, usually the same day.

How do I get paid?

You pick the method. We pay by check, ACH, Zelle, PayPal, and wire. We verify each bottle when it arrives at our licensed warehouse and issue payment within 24 hours of it passing inspection. Most sellers are paid within 5 to 7 days of first contacting us.

Is it legal to ship alcohol to you?

Yes. We are fully licensed and follow all state and carrier rules.

What if a bottle breaks in transit?

You still receive the full quoted amount because every shipment is insured.

Do you charge any fees?

No. The number we quote is the number you get. We cover the packing kit, the shipping label, and the insurance, and nothing comes out of your payout. There is no commission, no listing fee, and no percentage taken off the back end.

How long does it take to receive an offer?

Usually the same day, and within 24 hours in almost every case. A person is reading your list, so lists that come in late at night get answered the next morning rather than instantly.

How is pricing determined?

We price against what our buyers are actively paying right now, not against a published guide or an auction result from two years ago. Age, rarity, condition, fill level, and whether the original box is present all move the number. You get one honest figure rather than a high opener we walk back later.

How does shipping work?

Once you accept the offer we send a packing kit with prepaid labels. Pack the bottles, drop the box with the carrier, and you are done. Your shipment is insured from your doorstep to our warehouse, and if anything breaks in transit you are still paid the full quoted amount. Every shipment travels on the kit's prepaid, insured label; never ship bottles to us on your own label or postage, and we do not accept local drop-offs. The kit, the label, and the insurance are all on us.

What do you typically not buy?

Opened bottles, anything unlabeled or homemade, bottles that are leaking or missing a seal, and mass-market bottles you can still find on a shelf. We also pass on anything we cannot verify. Everything else is worth asking about. Bourbon is where we are strongest and where we usually pay the most, but we buy across scotch, Japanese whisky, tequila and mezcal, and fine wine and champagne too. If you are not sure, send it. Telling you no costs you nothing.

Still wondering about something? Call (202) 902-9935. A real person picks up.

Got bottles? We got cash.

Send your list. A real person will read it and get back to you within 24 hours with a no-obligation cash offer.
