Privacy Policy

Information you give us when you request an offer or use a seller account:

• Contact details: name, email address, phone number
• Your bottle list and any notes you include about your collection
• Photos you upload of your bottles
• Shipping-kit address, so we can send your prepaid packing kit
• Payout preference and the detail needed to pay you (for example, a PayPal email or mailing address for a check). We never ask for full bank card numbers on this site.
• Account credentials if you create an account (passwords are stored only as one-way cryptographic hashes)
• Support messages you send us
• A referral code, if you arrived through a friend’s link

Collected automatically: standard technical logs from our hosting provider (IP address, browser type, pages requested), a session cookie when you sign in, and a small browser-storage entry that remembers a referral code. We do not run third-party advertising trackers.

• To communicate about your offer, shipment, and payment
• To ship your packing kit and arrange insured transport
• To pay you the way you asked to be paid
• To operate seller accounts, drafts, and support threads
• To credit referrals
• To meet our legal obligations as a licensed alcohol buyer, including age verification and transaction records

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

Photos you upload go to private, access-controlled cloud storage. They are not public, and only our team can view them. We use them to identify and appraise your bottles and to verify condition at intake.

We photograph bottles we purchase, at our warehouse, for our public acquisition record. Those are our photos of our bottles after the sale. We never publish your name, your uploaded photos, or anything identifying you alongside them without your consent.

Data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) and stored with established cloud providers: our website and databases are hosted on managed infrastructure with access controls, and photos live in private object storage. Access is limited to the small team that handles your sale.

• Service providers that run our infrastructure (website hosting, database, and file storage), bound to use it only to provide those services
• Shipping carriers and insurers, to move your bottles and cover them in transit
• Payment services, to deliver your payout
• Regulators or law enforcement when the law requires it of a licensed alcohol business

That’s the whole list. We never sell your data.

Records of completed purchases are kept as long as alcohol-licensing and tax law requires. Account data, saved drafts, and preferences are kept until you delete them. Quote requests that never become purchases are kept so we can honor follow-ups, and are covered by the deletion rights below.

If you have an account: Settings → Danger zone → Delete account removes your login, saved payout and shipping preferences, drafts, and personal profile data immediately.

With or without an account: email hello@webuybottles.com or call (202) 902-9935 and ask us to delete your information. We’ll verify the request is really yours, then delete everything we aren’t legally required to keep. Records of completed alcohol purchases must be retained for the legally required period, but they come out of active use.

This site and our services are for adults 21 and over. We verify age as part of every transaction and do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 21.
